Experience
- Previous experience working in the i-Gaming industry, with a focus on AML compliance is a prerequisite.
- Experience in AML regulations within the MGA (and UKGC)
- Proficiency in using AML monitoring software and other analytical tools to conduct investigations and analyse data.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial transactions and identify potential red flags.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Professional certification with an organization, such as the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), gives a distinct advantage
The Department:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Fraud and Risk and will manage and beresponsible for a team of AML analysts as and when the department expands.
Purpose of Job:
An AML Team Lead role located in Johannesburg working within the DTG Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) team within the wider Fraud and Risk Team. The candidate must have extensive i-Gaming experience within the on-line casino industry.    
As the Team Lead, in a high paced rapidly growing i-Gaming environment, the candidate will play a crucial role within a very regulated industry in implementing and enforcing the company’s AML, risk and compliance policies, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations whilst protecting the integrity of the organisation. The candidate must have extensive experience in compliance within the i-Gaming Industry.   
Key Deliverables:
- Conduct time-sensitive, meticulous investigations and reviews, analysing each instance of potential money laundering activity, financing of terror and/or suspicious financial activity across multiple jurisdictions and countries.
- Utilize various tools and techniques to analyse large volumes of data and detect patterns that are indicative of money laundering or other illicit activities.
- Prepare well-written reports detailing and analysing suspicious activity for review by the Head of Department.
- Complete Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) checks for DTG clients within the required time frames and in accordance with the company’s risk assessment and procedures and the AML policy.
- Meticulous, detailed and accurate record keeping.
- Performing PEP, Sanction as well as Adverse Media checks and analysing the results to eliminate or confirm matches.
- Professionally and confidently manage and communicate with internal stakeholders to achieve the required deliverables and meet all compliance requirements.
- Ensuring that action taken on customer accounts are compliant with internal policies and procedures as well as the requirements as set out by the regulator.
- Keep up to date with all regulatory changes, recommendations and/or guidance notes in line with the relevant regulatory governing bodies.
- Monitor and record enforcement action taken by the regulator with operators and extract learning outcomes to improve existing processes and procedures.
- Make practical and acceptable recommendations where systems and procedures require enhancement to counter the risk of financial crime.
- Review and maintain AML/CTF Policies and Procedures.
- Assist in creating and implementing AML training to new employees and other areas of the business.
- Collaborate with the payments department (both payment services and operations teams) in respect of in-depth investigations.
- Staying abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices in AML compliance to ensure adherence to evolving standards and requirements.
- Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of AML policies and procedures and regulatory requirements to foster a culture of compliance and awareness throughout the organisation.

AML Responsibilities include the following:
- Investigate and assess alerts relating to potential money laundering risks in the organization.
- Ensure efficient identification and monitoring of activities and transactions considered suspicious.
- Ensure timely and efficient reporting of transactions considered suspicious.
- Daily assessment of reports relating to potential suspicious activity.
- Stay current with money laundering and terrorist financing behaviours, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends.
- Help in identifying potential weaknesses in processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert to employees, providing guidance on what actions to take in dealing with high-risk accounts.
- Assist with addressing queries from corresponding banks relating to money laundering matters.
- Provide advice to management on issues relating to correspondent banking.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Compliance, Legal and Risk Teams to escalate and address potential AML concerns.
- Assist in facilitating training programs to enhance AML compliance training. Arrange weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
General Compliance Responsibilities:
- Provide additional support to the Head of Compliance and team where and when required.
- Participation in ad hoc and project work as required e.g. remediation projects, process changes.
- Participate in internal system’s audit training to gain knowledge from reviews conducted in relation to AML/CTF requirements.
- Completing & implementing additional tasks assigned within the Fraud & Risk Team.
- Develop AML/CTF policies and procedures to assist in future improvements.
- Create internal controls applicable for market depending on specific regulation.
- Completing tasks, projects and workload at a level that maintains high levels of quantity and quality.
- Attend webinars and conferences to stay in touch with industry developments and establish relationships with providers to potentially enhance current methods.

- Location of role:Johannesburg.
- This is an office-based position. The candidate is required to be at the office 5 days a week. Working hours are from 08h30 to 17h30.
